Dr. Sharon Hauck, N.D.
Sharon Hauck graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Medical Anthropology. Her study led her to an interest in complimentary and alternative healthcare. Briefly considering a career in conventional medicine,
Sharon had trouble reconciling what she was learning to be true of health and illness from a cultural, universal and historical perspective with what she knew about modern day healthcare. Discovering naturopathic medicine was a wonderful moment and she is excited to work within a holistic framework that addresses all aspects of health – the physical, the emotional and the spiritual.
Before beginning her practice, Sharon spent some time travelling and working in Europe. While working with the National Health Service in London, England, she gained more insight and understanding of healthcare and is proud to be a part of a cohesive and cooperative medical system that individualizes holistic care. Work and travel continue to be her passions and she looks forward to incorporating naturopathic medicine with international work.
Sharon is drawn to the Naturopathic modalities that emphasize the insight from and participation of the individual seeking care. Specifically, she believes that all realms of a person are connected and the journey to optimal health and personal peace occurs while these connections are realized. She has a special interest in disease prevention, chronic conditions, hormonal imbalances, and digestive disorders.
As well as practicing Naturopathic Medicine, Sharon also teaches at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
Sharon loves working in the wonderful community of Markham Village Naturopathic Clinic.
